Mdm Low Leng
Profile
Low Leng graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1985 with a BSc in Mathematics and Economics. She has taught for 26 years in the secondary schools. She was the Head of Department (Mathematics) before switching to the Teaching Track in 2011.
As a Lead Teacher, she was the key driver of the school’s staff professional development focusing on pedagogical approaches in the area of curriculum design and action research. She has worked with Professional Learning Communities both within and beyond the school. Her interest in catering to the different needs of the students allows her to work with teachers from different schools in networked learning communities, mentoring them and supporting them in their professional development.
As a Master Teacher, she works with the teachers to draw relevance to what they are teaching, to be passionate in the content that they teach and to develop good teaching practices to develop the students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics.
Low Leng was conferred the Associate of Academy of Singapore Teachers in 2012 for her role in the professional development of teachers in the fraternity.
