Overview of Teacher-led Workshops (TLW)

Teacher-Led Workshops (TLWs) are conducted by teachers for teachers.

Guided by the mission of the Academy of Singapore Teachers (AST) to develop a teacher-led culture of professional excellence, TLW is a platform to provide professional opportunities for our teachers to share their good practices within the fraternity.

Through this platform, teachers will engage in professional exchange of pedagogical content knowledge, leading to enhanced pedagogical practice.

Call for Proposals for 2025 Teacher -Led Workshops (TLW) [OPEN]

The Academy of Singapore Teachers (AST) is inviting educators to submit proposals for Teacher-Led Workshops (TLWs). The proposed TLW should be minimally shared previously at school-based or cluster-based platforms. Additionally, facilitators are required to obtain approval from their principals before submitting their proposals.

Facilitators are encouraged to propose TLWs that are relevant to the teaching level of the students for whom they have applied their pedagogy or approach in their own classrooms and schools. For instance, educators from Junior Colleges or Centralised Institutes should tailor their workshops to the needs of their peers at the same educational level, rather than proposing workshops meant for Primary school teachers.

TLW Proposal Submission Timeline

Please contact the AST TLW team, Ms Chong Jieqi (chong_jieqi@moe.gov.sg), Ms Foo Shi Jia (foo_shi_jia@moe.gov.sg) and Ms Yu Mi Soh (soh_yu_mi@moe.gov.sg) should there be any queries.

After the TLWs have been completed, AST will extend e-Certificates of Appreciation and the collated feedback from the participants to the facilitators through their principals.

Teacher-led Workshops (TLW) can be conducted through the following modes of delivery:

In-person and online TLWs are conducted in the afternoons of Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays across the academic year approximately from Term 1 Week 9 to Term 4 Week 1.
