Profile
“As a beginning teacher, Dr. Kelly Tang taught music at diverse schools including Raffles Junior College and CHIJ St. Theresa’s Convent. As Associate Professor at the National Institute of Education from 1995 to 2011, he nurtured pre-service teachers to harness their artistic passion and practice to drive innovative teaching approaches that engage and empower students. He also served as the Dean of Arts at the School of the Arts (SOTA) from 2011 to 2017. As an active composer, Dr. Tang’s works are performed both on the international and local stage. For his contributions to the arts, Dr. Tang was conferred the Cultural Medallion - Singapore’s pinnacle award in the arts - in 2011.”
