Mr Andrew Anthony

Andrew Anthony joined the teaching service in 1987 and has held various appointments before joining AST in 2011. He was HOD (Humanities) at a secondary school, Curriculum Specialist at the History Unit (CPDD), Vice Principal of a primary school before switching to the teaching track in 2007. In 2009 he was awarded the Fulbright Distinguished Award for Teaching and spent four months in the United States at the Peabody College, Vanderbilt University. He was appointed Master Teacher for History in June 2011 and as part of his work helped to identify and grow the teacher leaders in the History fraternity.
Andrew was promoted to Principal Master Teacher (History) in 2017. In his capacity as Principal Master Teacher, Andrew works with the Humanities MTTs to champion effective teaching and learning practices in the various Humanities subjects for improved student outcomes. In addition, he also helms various programmes at AST to grow the teacher leader pipeline and support the professional learning of teacher leaders.
