Documenting COVID-19: School Experiences

Collection Project by MOE Heritage Centre

The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected our lives in Singapore and that includes the school-related experiences of all our students, teachers, school staff and parents. As it is important for us to document this important period of Singapore’s education history, we are calling for contributions of stories and objects related to your school experiences during this pandemic. Relevant stories and objects will be displayed at a special exhibition planned for 2022. We will also be archiving relevant entries for documentation and potential use in future.

What We Are Looking For

  1. Stories of your experiences, and/or
  2. Objects with accompanying stories. (E.g. photographs, audio-visual recordings, face masks/shield, posters, HBL related items, creative works etc. 

Examples:

Contribution Guidelines

Please submit:

  • Materials that are clear and directly related to school experience during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Materials that do not cause distress or offence to others
  • Materials that do not contain identifiable person(s), including children, taken or submitted without their consent.

If your contribution is selected, we will be in touch for more information and to make arrangements for the donation.

 

 

Project Duration

We will be accepting submissions from now until 31 March 2022.

Terms & Conditions

By making a submission for the Campaign:

1. You acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions (“T&Cs”);

2. You represent and warrant that:

  • you own the story and/or object ('Contributions') described in your submission; and
  • the Contributions are original and were written/taken by you, and do not infringe on the copyright or other intellectual property rights of any person;

3. You continue to own the rights to Contributions and can continue to use them for any purposes and also to share them with others.

4. You agree that the Ministry of Education Heritage Centre (MOE HC) can do the following with the Contributions:

  • Archive it as part of the MOE HC's collection if so decided by MOE HC. You understand that MOE HC will not be able to archive all the Contributions received so some, including yours, may not be retained by MOE HC.
  • MOE HC is free to decide whether and how to use the Contributions, including having the right to modify, adapt the same for any of MOE's programmes, including but not limited to the internet and succeeding platforms, mobile applications, interactive kiosks, programmes, the production of books or merchandise or services that promote culture, history or learning.
